Fleece lined beanies put a brushed microfleece band, or a full fleece lining, inside a heavyweight knit shell. The band version covers the forehead and ears where cold actually gets in while keeping the crown breathable; the full lining is the one to order for crews standing outside all day in wind. The outer knit is dense enough to cut wind on its own before the lining ever does its work.

The lining changes how decoration is applied, so we set backing and stitch depth to sew through the shell without dimpling the fleece underneath.
